Good Buns

About a week ago, David stayed up all night in the lab working on a project.  I attempted to stay up with him (slash I fell asleep watching karate kid, but I tried).  Since it was quite a night, I tried to think up some good breakfast to wake him up with.  Rummaging around in an old Real Simple magazine, I found this recipe.  So, if you want a great breakfast for Saturday morning, give this one a try:

STICKY BUNS: (makes about 10)
total time - 20 min.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 TBSP unsalted butter, cold & thinly sliced into ten pieces

1/2 cup (2 oz) pecans, chopped

3 TBSP dark brown sugar (but any works really)

1 7.5 oz tube of refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

One muffin pan (preferably bigger than just six spots)

(banana thinly sliced if you like them - YUCK haha)

  • HEAT oven to 375
  • DROP a slice of the butter in the bottom of 10 compartments of a muffin tin
  • ARRANGE the banana slices on top of butter (I SKIPPED THIS - boo bananas)
  • SPRINKLE pecans and brown sugar evenly in each compartment onto of butter & banana
  • TOP each compartment with a biscuit
  • BAKE until golden brown, but probably 8-10 min (biscuit package timing)
  • REMOVE from oven
  • PLACE a baking sheet on top of tin while the buns are still hot, and carefully flip the tin over, tapping the bottom to release the buns.
  • TRANSFER to platter & serve warm.

Really, these are so easy and are such a treat. Give 'em a try and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
